Finished in Zinfandel wine casks from the Napa Valley winery Chateau Montelena, this Green Spot expression adds red-berry fruit and gentle tannins to the classic pot still character. Wine fruit, toasted oak, vanilla, fresh herbs, and pot still spice open the nose; the palate is rich with red berries, wine tannins, barley spice, dark honey, and toasted oak, and a long, complex finish carries wine fruit and lingering pot still warmth. Bottled at 46% ABV and produced at Midleton in Ireland, it retails around $70 to $90 and represents an Irish-Californian fusion, the wine-cask finishing setting it apart from the standard Green Spot.
