Bowmore 12 is a single malt Scotch matured in bourbon and sherry casks and positioned as a balanced introduction to Islay whisky. Its medium peat level sits between the heavily peated south-coast malts and the lighter north-coast styles. Fresh lemon curd, wildflower honey, and coastal peat smoke shape the nose alongside warm toffee fudge and a hint of tropical melon; the palate carries medium-weight smoke against citrus oil, dark cocoa, and coconut cream over a lightly drying structure. A warm, balanced finish follows, with sweet smoke fading beneath bright lemon zest and soft toffee toward a clean dryness. Bottled at 40% ABV by Bowmore in Scotland, it retails around $40 to $55.
