Green Spot
Green Spot originated as a single pot still Irish whiskey bottled for the Mitchell family's Dublin wine merchant shop, and it remains one of the few surviving examples of the bonded whiskey tradition. Matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, it noses on fresh orchard fruit, toasted wood, barley, and light spice; the palate is spicy pot still with green apple, toasted oak, honey, and clove, and a long, satisfying finish carries assertive pot still grain spice over warm barley malt before a clean, gently sweet dryness. Bottled at 40% ABV and produced at Midleton in Ireland, it retails around $50 to $65.
