GlenDronach 12 Year Old Original
Matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, GlenDronach 12 Original is a richly sherried Highland malt. The distillery's commitment to sherry-cask maturation yields a full-bodied whisky layered with dried fruit, spice, and dark chocolate. Rich sherry, dried cranberry, orange peel, and vanilla open the nose; the palate carries sherry sweetness, dark fruit, walnut, and gingerbread spice, and a long, sherried finish lingers on dried fruit and spice. Bottled at 43% ABV by GlenDronach in Scotland and retailing around $50 to $65, it leans firmly on the two sherry-cask types for its dark, fruit-forward, spice-edged profile with dense dried-fruit character.
