概要
Large casks used to mature Madeira — a fortified wine from the volcanic island of Madeira, unique for its estufagem (heating) process that gives the wine its characteristic caramelized and oxidized flavors. Madeira drums produce some of the most distinctive cask finishes available, with an unmistakable burnt sugar and citrus peel character that differentiates them from port or sherry casks.
