Richly sherried and full-bodied, Bunnahabhain 18 shows the distillery's unpeated character at its most mature. Extended aging in sherry casks develops deep layers of dried fruit, leather, and dark chocolate with a coastal edge. Rich sherry, dried fruit, leather, walnut, and subtle brine open the nose; the palate is full-bodied with sherry sweetness, dark chocolate, fig, and spiced oak, and a very long finish stays sherried with maritime salt and dried fruit. Bottled at 46.3% ABV by Bunnahabhain in Scotland and priced around $100 to $130, it presents the coastal, sherry-driven profile of the twelve-year with the added weight and complexity of six more years in cask.
